Anita Morphew

ASTRO Foundation Board of Directors

How long have you been with the Board?

Since May of 2023.

What made you want to join the ASTRO Foundation Board of Directors?

I love helping animals and ASTRO helped me a few years ago when a momma kitty showed up with two kittens on my doorstep and then she passed away. ASTRO helped the kittens find a good loving home. I feel this is my way of giving back.

Where do you live?

I live in Oakdale.

Tell us a little about your day, what do you do, what have you done? I have been in the financial industry for 30 years, specifically Credit Unions. The Credit Union’s philosophy is “People Helping People” – I believe animals are “people” too and we should do all that we can to help those who are unable to help themselves.

Are you currently participating in any other organizations or associations?

Not currently.

Any past affiliations you would like to share?

I have served on the Stanislaus County Library Board and served as Prize Chair for the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life. I also volunteered throughout the years for community organizations such as Valley Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.

What unique talents and skills do you bring to the board?

I have an extensive professional background in Marketing, Design and Business.

We would love to hear about your family, starting with your pets…

I am a proud Cat Mom of six furry felines ranging in age from one to seven years old!

Finally, what excites you about being part of the ASTRO board of directors?

I am excited to be a part of such a caring organization that is so passionate about helping animals. I look forward to helping ASTRO grow and continue to make a difference in the lives of animals that may otherwise not be given the opportunity to find their “furever” home.
